Easy Crafts For Kids: Make a carnation flower

There is an interesting story behind this craft. My mom made many of this flowers for her own wedding and then taught me how to do them when was about 4 or 5 years old. I hope you enjoy it

MATERIALS:
  • 15 - 25 squares of toilet paper pieces
  • 1 small piece of green crepe or construction paper
  • 1 glue
  • 1 piece string
  • 1 scissors

STEPS(S):
  • Select between 15 to 25 pieces of tissue paper squares from your toilet paper roll (do not detach).
  • Begin folding your paper back and forth like an accordion or a fan.
  • When complete, secure the middle of your stack by using a string.
  • Now twist one side on top of another and form the flower with your hand.
  • Bring all sheets to the middle until your done.
  • Take the green crepe paper and make the form of a leaf and glue it to the back of the flower.
